Do visual novels count? :P
Never heard of those, I don't think so though cause it's a novel and it's not a game

Visual novel are games. It's basically just scrolling through text for most of the game but there are generally several interactive sections, so not much different from a JRPG.

I actually agree with jakepeter anyways, because you take out the very limited parts and you're left with a book. But, games like Ace Attorney should count since there's a little more in terms of interactivity.

Maybe VNs would count is you go through everyone's route or something.

Started on Sonic Colors today. About half way done. Hope to finish it tomorrow and start on something else :D

Just completed Portal. Really short and easy game to start off the list.

First game completed of 2011; Super Scribblenauts!

Shame it wont count. I played it mostly during the December of last year. :P Man it feels wierd saying that of 2010 haha.

The interactivity of choosing different routes makes it more likening to a [Western] role playing game, so I would consider it a game. I don't see the need to go through each hero[in]es' routes really though - it'd be the same as having to 100% a game for it to qualify.

Started 2 games so far. It's probably going to take me until Feb-March for me to finish them.

Completed Pokemon Snap. I really want a sequel to be made for that game, as somewhat pointless as it would be. I realize a crap load of Pokemon would need to be added but I'd be all for a bigger game. Besides, Raichu wasn't in Pokemon Snap and that was terrible, almost as terrible as Lex Luthor stealing forty cakes.

I revised the rules a little bit, go check them out.

These were added, well cleared up in other points, no new rules added

2 Questions: Does iPod touch count as a handheld? cause it has legit games on it. (Like angry birds-- i mean Final Fantasy 1/2)

and can we play 2 games, one being a remake of the other, and count it as two games (ex. Pokemon Blue and Leaf Green)

Playing PvZ and plan to do Portal and Super Meat Boy. Do Episodic games count like the Telltale games (SBCG4AP or BTTF)?

jakepeter

Yep.

I began playing through Splosion Man earlier today. I should be able to beat the single-player campaign by tonight.

Edit: Just beat it. It was nice to play a moderately challenging platformer for a change, as opposed to one that's simply unforgiving (I'm pointing to you, Super Meat Boy).

Now to continue where I left off in LIMBO.

Beat Donkey Kong Country Returns and Super Mario Bros 3 a few days back and working on Kirby's Adventure now! :D

I beat Super Metroid yesterday and I have a bunch of games I started yet need to have time to settle on them. I started Earthbound earlier and so far im about a quarter through it.

Just beat Cthulhu Saves The World. Like with LIMBO, I wish the experience was longer, but I suppose I can't complain since the game was only $3. The game doesn't keep track of playtime, but I'd estimate my playtime to be around 8-10 hours.

Don't mean to sound like an idiot, but what is this challenge? Your first post did nothing to explain it.

In short: beat as many games as you can in 2011. Signups and more detailed rules are in this thread (http://community.thespeedgamers.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=12061).

Hey got a question. Does DLC content, like the new Dead Space 2 DLC that came out today, do things like those count?

jakepeter
03-30-2011, 11:48 AM
No, it's still part of the same game. And you can only beat a game once.
