Please read over the rules and follow them when posting on this forum.

#1 Be Respectful
Posts or Private Messages that are considered to be disrespectful should be brought to the attention of a Mod or Admin (either by PM including a link, or the "!" under the post) and will be reviewed. If considered to be disrespectful, the offending user will be warned and the post will be deleted. If further offenses occur from the same user, greater actions will be taken.

Examples considered to be disrespectful are, but are not limited to: slander, foul language directed at someone, pretentious comments, lewd jokes, harassment, trolling, and directed insults.

#2 No Racism, Sexism, or Discrimination of any kind
It's unacceptable and you will get banned.

#3 No Spam
Pretty simple really, do not post unless you have something to add to the discussion. Posts that do not add to the discussion are, but are not limited to, "lol", "i agree", "rofl", "rawwwwrr", etc. You are able to edit your posts, but please put some thought in to what you're saying before submitting.

#4 No Useless Threads
I really don't need to explain this, but if there is no meaning to your topic it will be locked. Topics encouraging spam will also be locked.

#5 Do Not Necropost
If you do not know what a necropost is, it defines the reviving a topic after it has not been posted in for some time. If a topic exists that is on the same subject you want to discuss, then we would rather you revive the old one. That said, never do so without adding something meaningful to the discussion, see the No Spam rule above for examples.

#6 No Piracy
Posts including piracy will be edited or deleted and you will receive a warning. If you want to discuss that kind of thing keep it off of this forum, and away from TSG related chats. This includes, but is not limited to, any discussion on how to acquire ROMs or disc images of console/handheld games, download commercial videos or crack computer applications.

#7 No Offensive Language
Most offensive language is automatically censored, any attempt to bypass these censors will be edited and may result in a warning.

#8 No Obtrusive Advertising
It is one thing to make a topic about your stream, but keep things to their correct sections. PMs to members without their approval will be frowned upon. I would like to ask that members who do receive such advertisements please forward it to an Admin or Mod. Advertisements in signatures are included under this rule. Also, the Community Streams section is meant solely for streams run by members of the community; if you are an inactive or brand new member your topic will be removed.

Unfortunately this extends to marathons and streams run by outside groups as well. We have a lot of streams run by our community and would rather put a focus on them, the ones who help TheSpeedGamers flourish. Other groups could potentially say or do inappropriate things during their streams as well, which we do not want to be seen as supporting.

Concerning Bans
We try to be as fair as possible, however, if a single user has continually broken the rules and ignores warnings from Mods and Admins then they will be banned. A ban may be temporary, or permanent, depending on the severity, but any attempts to get around a ban will result in a more severe punishment.

Some offenses can be forgiven over time, assuming good behaviour. Previous offenses are cumulative though, and a user may be banned after what seems to be a minor infraction for this reason.

Signature Size Limit
Signatures will be cut off at roughly 600 pixels wide, and 200 pixels tall. If you go over then the edges will not be displayed in posts. This limits are in total, which includes multiple pictures and text.

Do Not Style Every Post
I would like to add that it can be distracting when complete posts are made in colour or a font size that is not standard. The default is set for a reason and is just fine, please only use font colours and sizes to emphasize important blocks, not everything in every post.

Use Animated Images With Discretion
This is more of a suggestion, but animated avatars and/or signatures can also be distracting. Some members have used my AdBlock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865) (Firefox (http://www.firefox.com/) add-on) to block these sort of images. So the suggestion is to keep animations to a minimum, though you won't be told the change whatever you have unless it's offensive.

If you see any of these rules being broken, or would like clarification on a rule, please contact a Mod or Admin via Private Message.

Thank you for following these rules and making our lives easier by doing so,
- TheSpeedGamers and Forum Staff

Do Not Style Every Post
I would like to add that it can be distracting when complete posts are made in colour or a smaller font size. The default is set for a reason and is just fine, please only use font colours and sizes to emphasize important blocks, not everything in every post.

Use Animated Images With Discretion
This is more of a suggestion, but animated avatars and/or signatures can also be distracting. I personally have used my AdBlock Plus (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865) (Firefox (http://www.firefox.com/) add-on) to block several of the ones on this forum. So the suggestion is to keep animations to a minimum, though you won't be told the change whatever you have unless it's offensive.

As of right now signatures will be cut off at 200 pixels. If you go over then the bottom will not be displayed in posts.
