[center:1hla6zup]The Group and the Game[/center:1hla6zup]

Who we are: We are the TSG Princesses, a group of members from TheSpeedGamer's community who get together weekly, usually on a Friday or a Sunday, to attempt/die on Team Fortress 2's Co-Op Game Mode: Mann vs. Machine.

What is Mann vs. Machine: Mann vs. Machine, abbreviated as MvM, is the Co-Operative Game Mode added to Team Fortress 2 on August 15th 2012. It pits 6 Players against a robotic horde seeking the death and destruction of Mann Co. MvM game modes consist of 3 - 8 Waves of Robots attacking a Mann Co. facility, with each wave being larger and harder than the last. For reasons unknown to science, the robots are run off of money, which is collected by the players in order to purchase upgrades for their weapons or themselves, in order to further defend themselves from the mounting metal horde. In order to participate in MvM missions, also known as "Mann Up! Mode", each of the 6 Players most own a Tour of Duty Ticket (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Tour_of_Duty_Ticket) (Which will be gone over later in the topic). There are also groups of missions, called Tour of Duty's, where if every single mission in a Tour of Duty is completed, each player who completes the Tour of Duty gets a special "Botkiller" item. BroBuzz whipped up a nice little summery of all of the botkiller items that are currently in the game, you can find it below the spoiler:

[center:1hla6zup]The Rules[/center:1hla6zup]
Forming a group: Each week, 6 Players from the TSG Princesses will get together to form a group for a mission in Mann Up! Mode. To organize the players, and determine who is getting together, a simple sign-up sheet is used in order to determine who is signing up, what class they are playing as, what mission they are doing and what date and time they're doing it on. If more than 6 Players wish to get together, than the extra players will be added to a overflow portion of the list. An example is seen below.
Day Month Year - Name of Mission - Time of Mission (For further reference, the time of the mission is always in EST)
1. Player One - Player One's Class
2. Player Two - Player Two's Class
3. Player Three - Player Three's Class
4. Player Four - Player Four's Class
5. Player Five - Player Five's Class
6. Player Six - Player Six's Class

* Overflow *
1. Overflow Player One - Overflow Player One's Class
2.
3.[/spoiler:1hla6zup]

The Overflow portion of the list acts in this way: If one of Players One through Six is more than 15 Minutes Late to the group, than players from the overflow list are invited instead. If for some reason some of the main 6 slots are not filled, then players from the overflow are sent in to fill the list. If the main 6 slots are not filled, and there are no players in the overflow, then the players in the main slots are free to invite anyone they choose.

Now, after the 6 Players get together to play a mission, whether they win or fail, the next week when the sign-up for the next mission goes out, all 6 of those players are now added to the Overflow portion of the sign-up sheet, and if there are any players in the overflow, they then may choose to be moved to the main list. Example below.
Day Month Year - Name of Second Mission - Time of Mission
1. Overflow Player One - Overflow Player One's Class
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

* Overflow *
1. Player One - Player One's Class
2. Player Two - Player Two's Class
3. Player Three - Player Three's Class
4. Player Four - Player Four's Class
5. Player Five - Player Five's Class
6. Player Six - Player Six's Class[/spoiler:1hla6zup]

After this is done, then any player may choose to join the main group. If the group fills, then it becomes the responsibility of that group to determine who begins the mission, who invites the players, and how tickets are handled. The overflow group is then allowed to do whatever they want.

But, if the main group doesn't fill all of it's slots within 3 days of the sign-up sheet going out, then it will be announced that any of the players in the overflow group will be free to join the main group. After that, it once again becomes the responsibility of the group to determine who organizes the group together, who buys the tickets, etc.

Now, I know some of you guys have lives, so if you sign up for a mission, but something comes up and you have to leave, then it's absolutely no problem and you're free to leave at any time. Whether it's before we start the mission or in the middle of a mission; it's your time, choose how you spend it. Just give the group a heads up before you bail, because if you don't, then you'll potentially hold up your group.

Problems/Lag: Occasionally while in a group, one or multiple players may be having problems with Team Fortress 2, Steam, or their computers in general. Occasionally, this causes tremendous lag for the player, and in some cases, the player may be disconnected by Steam or TF2 will crash. Due to the way that MvM is set up, once that player is kicked, their spot will be reserved for a short time to allow them to get back in the game. In most cases, the spot is held for a long enough time that they'll be able to get back in the game. In a few rare cases, the spot will be filled after a length of time in which a player cannot possibly get back in. There is no way to get the kicked player back while in game after their reserved spot is taken. What the group usually does, is disconnect and reform the group. Whether it's on the first wave, or the last wave, this is usually the best plan of action to make sure that all the players that have signed up get to play.

Tickets and Vouchers: In order to play MvM, you're going to need a Tour of Duty Ticket (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Tour_of_Duty_Ticket). The only ways to obtain a Tour of Duty Ticket, is to either buy one from the Steam Store for $0.99, or to get one in a trade from another player. There are also Squad Surplus Vouchers (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Squad_Surplus_Voucher) which can be bought from the store for $1.99 or traded from another player. Two things usually happen when distributing these tickets:

1. A single players buys all of the tickets for each member of the group, and then distributes them by trade. (If you're grouped with me, then I always buy everyone's ticket.)

2. Each player is left to obtain their own tickets.

The way that tickets are obtained is decided by the group. If you know that you can't obtain a ticket, then feel free to ask me, I'll buy your ticket for you.

[center:1hla6zup]Q & A[/center:1hla6zup]
1. What do I need to play MvM with the Princesses?
You will need to have Team Fortress 2 and Steam installed on your computer. It's a Free-to-Play game, so it doesn't cost you anything to install it, you just need to search for it on Steam and install it right on your computer. In Team Fortress 2, I don't require anything specific; the most I require is that you've at least played a few hours of Team Fortress 2, you at least know how to play most of the classes, and you feel competent enough to join. Item-wise, I don't require you to have any items/item sets for each of the classes, there are definitely some items that I'll recommend that you own, but you don't need a single item in order to join the game. The items that I recommend for each class is listed below:

Scout: Mad Milk (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mad_Milk), Fan O'War (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Fan_O%27War)
Soldier: The Righteous Bison (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Righteous_Bison)
Pyro: The Degreaser (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Degreaser), The Third Degree (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Third_Degree)
Demoman: The Scottish Resistance (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Scottish_Resistance)
Heavy: The Brass Beast (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Brass_Beast), The Sanvich (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Sandvich)
Engineer: The Widowmaker (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Widowmaker) (Personal Note: Only for experienced Engineers), The Frontier Justice (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Frontier_Justice)
Medic: The Kritzkrieg (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Kritzkrieg)
Sniper: Jarate (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Jarate), The Machina (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Machina)
Spy: The Dead Ringer (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Dead_Ringer), The Spy-cicle (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Spy-cicle)

Once again, I don't require you own any of these weapons, I just suggest that you do. If you don't, feel free to ask me, I will loan you one.

2. I've played TF2, but I've never touched MvM in my life! How would I learn more about it?
There are two links at the top of this post: check those out. Also, just search Youtube for "TF2 Mann vs. Machine" or something along those lines, there are hundred of videos that you could learn from. Also, there are practice missions in TF2 that don't require tickets. Just start up TF2, go to Co-Op/Mann vs. Machine, and instead of Mann Up, select Bootcamp or Practice, this allows you to start/join free games of MvM. There are much easier practice missions, and the much harder advance missions that you're free to try out. Be warned, you may end up on some very strange servers every once-in-a-while.

3. I know a lot about TF2, and MvM; how do I join the TSG Princesses?
You've just joined! Like I said, I don't require a single thing except that you know TF2 fairly well. If you want to join, then just tag along on one of our missions, and you're in. (Steam Group coming soon!)

4. I've joined many of your missions, but now that you're about to finish the Tour of Duty, I've noticed that I'm still missing some missions! What should I do now?
This can happen: Not everyone can make it to every mission every week, as such, some people end up missing a mission or more when we're about to end the current Tour of Duty that we're on. So, there is Catch-Up Week. The last week before the final mission in a Tour of Duty will have days dedicated to specific missions, so you can join and then get caught-up before the grand finale. Catch-Up week is designed with you in mind, so you can decide which days and times where you can play a mission.

Any questions of your own? Feel free to ask and we'll do our best to answer them!

You left me off the first tour of duty loot list, Dwarf. :P

Oh hey, i just realized I should probably go ahead and mention that we'll be trying to get the achievement Frags to Riches again this week, most likely on Friday starting at around 7:00 PM-8:00 PM EST on the very mission we'll be playing on on the 19th. So far, I've got the following people down as participating:

Gendarmeofficer
Daskichan
Deadbrain
Untuxable

Which means two spots still open. So who wants to join in on this week's money missing shenanigans? And don't worry about how many people sign up. We aren't doing the Mann Up version of the mission, so if more than 6 people sign up, we can either set up a second group, or just do the whole thing a few times and rotate the participants around.

Also, if you have any objections to the time and/or date we'll be doing this, go ahead and let us know!

If it wasn't spontaneously confirmed earlier; I'll be aiding with the achievement round as well, leaving a single free position after me.

I should be able to make the achievement round this week, so count me in.

@Anything: Added you to the spoils list _spy_ I knew I was forgetting someone, my apologies

@gen: Just shove me in the overflow list for this Friday, I'm going to have a ton of homework this weekend so I might not be able to make it. But just in case, the overflow is for me! Good luck, have fun, I'll see you folks the next week!

And finally, here's the list for everyone joining on the 19th of October:

Friday, October 19th 2012 - Ctrl-Alt-Destruction - 8PM EST
1. DwarfInASuit - Soldier/Demoman/Engineer/Medic
2. Haruka (TheRedSubstance) - Heavy

BroBuzz

Mann vs. Machine

Added two new tours of duty, each with new unique loot:
Operation Oil Spill, with 6 new intermediate skill missions
Operation Gear Grinder, with 3 new expert skill missions
If a player connects to a MvM game through matchmaking and loses their connection, their spot will be held for a brief duration and they will be given a chance to reconnect
After victory on a Mann Up server, the players will be put into a lobby together.
Improved matchmaking searching status screen
Mann vs. Machine balance changes:
Explosive Headshots
damage is now 150 regardless of upgrade level
damage is done in one tick instead of the previous six
added a slowing effect based on upgrade level (50%-80% slow, 2-4 second duration)
radius still scales with upgrade level (unchanged)
Marked For Death duration reduced to 7 seconds from 15 seconds when the target is a giant robot
Reduced the "effect bar recharge rate increased" upgrade from 20% increments with an 80% cap to 15% increments with a 60% cap

Oh crap, I know what I'm doing tonight!

gendarmeofficer
10-09-2012, 03:59 PM
Ohh snap, now the question is, do we still want to do the same mission as before, or do we want to play with one of the new Tours on the 19th?

BroBuzz
10-09-2012, 04:07 PM
I'd prefer doing one of the new Tours on the 19th personally.

Oh BTW, they updated the website explaining the new tours:

New Tours!

Much like in Goldilocks and the Three Bears, specifically the part where Goldilocks broke into a bear's house looking for a place to sleep, some of you thought the one Tour of Duty we shipped with Mann vs. Machine was too hard. Others of you found it too soft. A lot of you thought it was just right.

In the fable, of course, Goldilocks held the defenseless bear family at gunpoint until her boyfriend Chet got there, at which point things turned truly grim. This is where our story diverges from that true crime drama, because we've sidestepped the issue by adding more Tours of Duty to MvM mode. Now, in addition to Operation Steel Trap (hard), we've got Operation Oil Spill (less hard) and Operation Gear Grinder (very hard). As Chet might say, "You goddamn bears are in for a lonnnnng night."

New Loot!

In the same way that Goldilocks and Chet drove off covered in bear blood and honey with a flatscreen TV and fourteen dollars in cash, we've cooked up some tour-specific loot you can take to your hideout in Florida. Just like the Botkiller heads awarded to survivors of Operation Steel Trap, we've got some brand new spoils of war you can only get in these new tours: rusty, blood-covered 'bot heads for the intermediate-level Operation Oil Spill, and some 24-carat diamond 'bot heads for the expert-level Operation Gear Grinder, so those of you players who survive the tour can show off a little bling to prove it.

(Remember: as always, loot is the only difference between MvM on the unofficial "Boot Camp" server and official "Mann Up" servers. Otherwise the gameplay is identical.)

Improved Matchmaking!

You can now select multiple missions you'd like to play, to maximize the chances of finding compatible players as quickly as possible. We’ve also added some handy buttons that'll let you select all missions of a particular difficulty level, or all missions not yet marked off on a Tour of Duty.

Lastly, like when Chet and Goldilocks beat a retired cop to death in Boca Raton and were sent to separate federal prisons, when your MvM group beat a mission, we used to disband the group. Now we've made it so that when you beat a mission to death in Boca Raton or elsewhere, you and the other players on the server are sent back to the matchmaking screen as a group, so you can keep playing together.

Those new ones sound too good to pass up.

DwarfInASuit
10-09-2012, 06:02 PM
Yep, new missions guys. I'm going to do a bit of investigating but since there's still a week and a half until we start, I'm actually going to change the mission order! We haven't started yet so nothing will be lost, so here's the poll:

Would you guys like to start Operation Oil Spill, or Operation Gear Grinder? Or keep up with Operation Steel Trap? From current news, I hear Operation Gear Grinder is wicked harder, harder than anything we've probably done so far. So, who wants to die _spy_

BroBuzz
10-09-2012, 06:13 PM
I vote for Operation Gear Grinder.
My body is ready (to die)

gendarmeofficer
10-09-2012, 06:19 PM
I vote Gear Grinder as well. Though for the sake of deadbrain finishing his ToD, any way we could do two missions on the 19th? If not, since he has to do Ctrl Alt Destruction, perhaps we could just do the Mann Up version this week, since we were going to play that mission anyway? Though if the latter is the case, I will almost certainly have to ask that someone else provide tickets, since I don't have the money to buy even one right now.

Well folks, we're going to try out Gear Grinder. The good thing is there are only 3 missions in this Tour of Duty! Desperation on Decoy, Cataclysm on Coal Town, and Mannslaughter on Mann Works. Well, I figure we can try out the nicest-sounding of those missions, Desperation on Decoy.

Here's the plan of action. We're going to try this suicide mission, if we beat it, then horray we can move on with Operation Gear Grinder! If we die horrible painful deaths for most of the night, then we'll call it and maybe try another mission or another Tour of Duty. But here's the updated schedule:

Friday, October 19th 2012 - Desperation - 8PM EST
1. DwarfInASuit - Soldier/Demoman/Engineer/Medic
2. Haruka (TheRedSubstance) - Heavy
3. gendarmeofficer - Any class except Sniper
4. deadbrain - Sniper
5. BroBuzz - Medic
6. AnythingButAwesome - Any class

* Overflow *
1. Daskichan
2.
3.

If you want to opt out, then feel free to do so. If you want to change missions then just post what mission you'd like to play and I'll try and see what I can do. If you want to change classes, that's fine by me.

@BroBuzz: Dang that's some good work. I'll work it into the OP right away, of course giving you credit _spy_

@deadbrain: What missions are you missing? If everyone has time, I could try and organize some groups on either Saturday or Sunday if you'd like to wrap up the Tour of Duty you're on right now. Gen made a good suggestion that we could do it this week to. The thing is, this week I'm in the overflow, but I'll still buy tickets for all you guys. If either you or gen could get back to me or come up with a plan between yourselves, that'd be fine.

Also, can we just take a minute to enjoy the quality that Valve puts into it's blog posts. I mean-wait a second...

Enhance...

Also Dwarf, I'd feel kinda guilty if you bought everyone the tickets and then you didn't get to play. If deadbrain is up for doing it this week, I may drop out just to let you have a chance at playing, that is, if you are available.

Ctr-alt-destruction, if that is the one that starts with pyros, that you all did last.

As for my class(character class that is) this friday, I don't remember which map it is exactly, so just change me from sniper to sniper/pyro/engi. =p

as for the ticket thing, If what i get from my first tour isn't the pyro thing I'm wanting, you can have it dwarf. If it is, then whatever I get in another tour will most likely be something I won't mind parting with. =p

As for the first tour thing, if we manage to get more people to join our escapades, who have not yet done a tour, I could join them in their first run and do Ctr-alt-destruction with them last. I seriously don't mind waiting.

Oh no, Ctrl Alt Destruction isn't the one you're thinking of, that would be CPU Slaughter, dead. Good thing you mentioned that though, because I got the two missions mixed up. We almost had giant scouts to deal with.

@gen & dead: Hmm, well that could be a problem. Here's my idea: We're both going to the death march on October 19th where we're going to attempt Desperation; we could play CPU Slaughter as a warm up. That would change the time to be a little earlier, maybe around 6PM EST. We'd play through CPU Slaughter using Squad Surplus Vouchers in order to guarantee that we get a good sum of items, and then play Desperation and die. The only thing that's a downside is that some people are only coming this Friday, so they'll miss out on the loot. Thoughts? Ideas?

Well right now it looks like the only person playing this week that isn't on for next week is untuxable. And right now, if everyone in the main list shows up, Daski also will end up missing out on the next week's mission.

I suppose I could hang back during CPU slaughter on the 19th and let Daski in at the very least. As for untux, well, it depends on whether or not he's even available that day, I suppose.

Oh god...

I'm most genuinely amused here, I did weave up implications of the Valve staff spectating our bot confrontations live and Gabe straightforward personally interfering with our servers and gameplay.. But one would've never guessed that they would be so HEAVILY close to our blood RED battles. I presume our game sessions get SUBSTANtially paranoid as of now. Seems like we're most ready for the expert missions, those merciless masochist Princesses.

Also, the situation is anguishingly dire. That Diamond Botkiller Minigun ain't going to kill people itself (probably will), and the fact that I already own that fully Strange parted Gold Minigun makes the choice tempting here. I would be inevitably bound to sell my gun in order to be financially stable after purchasing the Diamond gun.

But you didn't believe I would do that, right? My conclusion is, that I won't, because of the sole fact of reminiscense GOLDilocks Minigun has to it. Our first completed Tour of Duty, a prophecied drop as it was, and all those bloody unBEARable moments we had to sustain in order to get all that loot. I hereby announce that we'll get those Diamonds in drops, and I shall have my prize that way.

It's just an in-joke, Davy. I think it happened the first time we tried the endurance mission and Disk Deletion. Basically, we were failing, dwarf was playing scout, and someone blamed him for our failure because we were missing $14 at the time. At least, that's how I think it happened. I'm probably wrong though.

Perhaps we should start recording these matches so that when we make new in-jokes and such, we can actually remember where they came from.

BroBuzz
10-10-2012, 11:31 AM
Me and those other players almost completed Cataclysm this morning. Some of them had to leave once we got to the final wave though, so we didn't finish it.

I think we'll be able to do it, but we will get our butts kicked for sure.

Anyone up for a random practice game on one of the expert mvm missions? =p

gendarmeofficer
10-10-2012, 08:46 PM
So me, dwarf, dead, bro, and davy decided to play an expert mission to see what we were in for on the 19th. After a ton of failures getting onto the community servers, we ended up manning up and doing the Expert Coal Town mission Cataclysm. And hoo boy, was the name appropriate. We ended up unable to even beat the second wave, though we did come close. Our desperation was so great, we tried something unthinkably crazy. We had Dwarf go Heavy while our randomly assigned 6th played scout. Sadly, dwarf is not red, and so the plan worked exactly the way you'd expect it to.

At least now we have a slight idea of what Cataclysm has in store for us once we get around to doing it. and if Bro is to be believed, Desperation is the easier of the three expert missions, which means MannSlaughter will be a true nightmare for us when we finally do it. Aren't you all looking forward to getting beaten to a pulp?

DwarfInASuit
10-11-2012, 09:48 AM
Oh yeah, it was a slaughter, and we were the ones being slaughtered. But good job on making it to the second wave I guess _spy_ I played a very janky Heavy, meaning I didn't do that great with him and we lost over $100 in the first round which was completely not my fault whatsoever. And from what I hear, Desperation is the easiest, followed by Cataclysm, with Mannslaughter being almost impossible, so we'll probably do them in that order if we end up doing them, which I'll explain later in this post. Also, as gen said we tried some dire tactics last night, even deadbrain tried something different.
http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/939257693838090317/21A46769EE38A3D8726009EEDE7CD89E58172A93/
As you can see in the background, there's deadbrain as Pyro attempting to defeat the robots using a flying jump kick. Unfortunately, it didn't work so well.

Since some people were a bit confused about the schedule last night, I'm going to give an update.

Friday, October 19th at 6PM EST, we're going to do CPU Slaughter. For that round, I'll buy tickets and vouchers. It will serve as deadbrain's finale for the Tour of Duty and the start for everyone else's. It shouldn't take that long, but who knows what could happen.

The same day, Friday October 19th, right after CPU Slaughter we'll also attempt to start the Gear Grinder Tour of Duty with Desperation. Same people who signed up for CPU Slaughter are going to attempt Desperation unless they choose to leave or give a replacement. Due to Desperation's difficulty, there are 2 options here: We either beat Desperation by some kind of miracle, if we do beat it then we'll move on with the Gear Grinder Tour of Duty for the next 2 weeks. If we get murdered horribly, then we skip the Gear Grinder Tour of Duty and continue with the Operation Steel Trap Tour of Duty which was started earlier in the day. We'll probably try Gear Grinder again mid-way through Steel Trap just to see if we can do it after dying.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'll be at school all day today so I won't be able to answer them until later in the evening, but hopefully our plan of action should be easy enough to understand. I'm not sure if you're starting anything tomorrow gen since we had our practice today, but if you do, be sure to remind everyone and good luck to you all!

BroBuzz
10-11-2012, 09:53 AM
I think we should do Operation Oil Spill instead of Operation Steel Trap since we've haven't done those missions yet. This is assuming we fail at Operation Gear Grinder of course.

Also, I'm going to try and complete Operation Gear Grinder before you guys. Nothing personal, just wanna flip the Botkiller for a huge profit before the price drops.

gendarmeofficer
10-12-2012, 09:58 PM
Well, we almost had it. But then we missed $2 on the final wave. And then even though we didn't do it on purpose, we failed the wave.

On the plus side, we did at least get an A+ in the mission the second time, and here's the proof.

http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/900977097020912946/88932BC111965C0D8808DA5D9C9D63E091ACA194/

So yeah, we earned the achievement, regardless of what Valve says. But sadly, I doubt showing them this picture will get it for us, so we'll just have to do it again some other week. When? Who knows. Maybe next week, maybe after the glitch is patched, but regardless of when we do it, I'm positive we can do it next time. No dying, no losing money. We will get that achievement ladies!

Also, to daski, sorry you couldn't join us. We did wait for about an extra 45 minutes to see if you would at least come online, and dead even sent you a message on twitter. But you never showed up, sadly. If you want to play during next week's mission though, I promise I'll make sure you can, even if I have to drop out, since it seems you were unable to join us this week for whatever reason.

But good job one way or another. I couldn't join tonight because I was out doing other things, but at least you managed to A+ the mission. Achievement or not, that sounds like a pretty hard thing to do. Good job once again _spy_

Because I just learned that I'll be busy all day and night on the Friday after next Friday, that's Friday the 26th. I'm wondering if anyone's available and is able to join in on a mission on Sunday the 21st to make up for probably not having a mission on the Friday the 26th.

And if I'm not a competent enough Scout to be compared to your precious Slag_Rarity, then I just won't be a Scout! Let someone else get all the money you beggars! I hope they miss more than $14 so I can make them feel the pain I feel from you critics _spy_

Sorry Princesses, I've been busy with homework all weekend, you wouldn't believe how complicated derivatives actually are but somehow, lesson after lesson they somehow become harder. I still don't see why I need to know the rate of change of some dudes eyes as he watches a car drive by! This week is the week we make our grand comeback! Our return to fame! Our rise to power! All of the things above...will probably put us in our graves _spy_

So here's the plan of action: This Friday, the 19th, will be our return. We're going to start a bit earlier than usual due to Friday sounding like a pretty busy day for a lot of you guys, plus the fact that we'll be grinding gears for a few hours or so. Once again: If you have any problems with the time, feel free to speak up so we can decide upon an agreeable time.

We start on Friday with CPU Slaughter at 4PM EST. I will invite everyone to that match and I will bring Tickets and Vouchers for that match as well. This will be our warm-up round, and I believe deadbrain's final mission in his Tour of Duty (But you might be gone on Friday deadbrain? Please get back to me on that), and the start our Tour of Duty 1 1/2 due to what we'll be doing once we finish CPU Slaughter. In truth, it should only take about 30 minutes to an hour to wrap up CPU Slaughter.

After CPU Slaughter, we'll be attempting our first group run at the Expert Tour of Duty Gear Grinder. The mission we'll be doing will be Desperation on Decoy, which is one of the easier missions to do. Everyone who attended CPU Slaughter will attend Desperation, however if anyone has to leave I will start inviting people from the overflow, so stick around! I'll be supplying Tickets for this match as it's the start for Tour of Duty 2 for the Princesses. Depending on how good we do, it will either take an hour or several hours to complete/try and quit. If we fail at it, then we put the mission off for another day and we do other missions. I'll explain that later. Everyone attending these two are listed below:

Friday, October 19th 2012 - CPU Slaughter & Desperation - 4PM EST
1. DwarfInASuit - Soldier/Demoman/Engineer/Medic
2. Haruka (TheRedSubstance) - Heavy
3. gendarmeofficer - Any class except Sniper
4. deadbrain - Sniper
5. BroBuzz - Medic
6. AnythingButAwesome - Any class

* Overflow *

Sunday, since most people should be good for Sunday, will be round two for the TSG Princesses. What we do all depends on how we do on Friday, but I'll give a quick run-down of the plan. No matter what, on that day we'll be doing the mission Mech Mutilation on Mannworks at 5PM EST. If we fail the expert mission Desperation on Friday, then this day will be the day we try again, but if we fail again then we put off Gear Grinder for a week or so and continue to do missions from Operation Steel Trap. If we beat Desperation on Friday however, then this day we crank it up a notch and try Cataclysm.

Here's the sign up list for Sunday. Everyone who attended on Friday has been added to the overflow so other players can join. KEEP IN MIND that everyone in the Overflow list can sign up for the main list on Thursday, October 18th.

Anyways, if you guys need me for any tours, I make a great Scout (Mad Milk? Actually shadow, the robots in MvM are incredibly dumb, you can literally disguise right in front of them while they're shooting at you and if you complete it before they kill you, they pretty much forget you aren't one of them and will happily turn away from you. And I've done it a few times myself, so I know it works. The only time they ever seem to realize something's up is if you're on fire, and really, a DR can fix that problem easily.

Also, I should be good to go at 4PM Friday, though I may suck worse than normal at first, since I tend to sleep in very late, usually until around 2PM-2:30PM.

I was actually thinking about that Bro, and you could be right. I'll probably come to a decision later in the week and post it then, but the real problem is going to be the fact that whenever we start up another Steel Trap Tour of Duty sometime in the future, it might be a pain organizing the missions we'll be doing because some of us will have more missions done than others. Oh well, I'll probably switch Tour of Duty 1 1/2 to the intermediate missions, maybe we'll do two or three of those a day because they're so easy. Still, a good suggestion and I'll get back to all of you later in the week on it _spy_

Hey don't worry about it deadbrain, enjoy the party my friend as I tell everyone what our new schedule is.

On Friday the 19th, instead of starting with CPU Slaughter as we initially planned, we're going to start a different Tour of Duty. As I said to BroBuzz and the rest of you, I don't know what Tour of Duty we'll start, but I'll tell you guys before Thursday what the plan is. After that mission is over, things carry on as usual with Tour of Duty 2 on the expert missions. Due to deadbrain leaving we now have an open spot for Friday. Anyone can join but it's first come first serve!

Friday, October 19th 2012 - Tour of Duty 1 1/2 Mission 1 & Desperation - 4PM EST

So I hear I was being talked about in this thread for actually being able to Scout. That makes me feel all fuzzy inside to cause some rage :D

Anyways, if you guys need me for any tours, I make a great Scout (Mad Milk? You're supposed to actually use that? ), a solid Engie (Strange Widowmaker and Strange Gunslinger/Strange Wrench combo go :P), a decent Demoman (usually better just charging into things, but I can actually use the Sticky Launcher/Scottish), a questionable Huntsman/decent Sniper, and a questionable Spy (I say questionable because I am rarely able to function without my YER).

Nonsense! You merely adapted the art of the Scout! I was born in it! Raised by it! You know nothing about the Scout! Only when you miss $14 do you have my permission to die! _spy_

Come along anytime Shadow, although...YES YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO USE THE MAD MILK BECAUSE THE PISTOL IS GARBAGE AGAINST ROBOTS AND BONK IS EVEN MORE USELESS[strike:uk3pbgo9]OH GOD I BROKE MY CAPS LOCK HOW DO I FIX THIS.[/strike:uk3pbgo9] Eh, anything that you can use good is fine with me my friend. Just pick a class you'd want to use and go with it!

That about wraps things up. Once again, any questions or comments I'll try to answer tonight or tomorrow morning.

For the 19th, wouldn't it be better to put one of the people in the overflow in for the open spot as opposed to leaving it open? At the very least mark the spot as something like "Overflow1" or something. Just to avoid confusion about it later on.

I figured the overflow priority was already indicated by the numbers, meaning Daski gets priority. I'm fairly certain I'll be doing something Friday, but I'll see if I can get on.

Yes and no. When we're starting a mission and someone is late, then the numbers in the overflow indicate priority. So if James is first in the overflow, Jack is second in the overflow, and Joe is 15 minutes late on game day, we invite James.

But if we're filling a group with previous members of the mission, i.e. what we're doing on Saturday (It was initially Thursday, my bad guys) then it's first come first serve. Say there's a group with 3 people in it, and James, Jack, and Joe are in the overflow and it's the day that they can join the group, they can join in any order.

You know what? Whatever works for you the best, use it. I personally think that the milk is great against the robots in MvM, it slows them down and if anyone kills them they get a bit of health back. For you, it could be different. Crit-a-Cola could be your best item, and if you feel comfortable using it, use it. I only make suggestions on what you should use.

Let me clarify a bit because I was a little bit confusing when describing what's going to happen on Sunday's mission. So win or fail, the group on Friday which consists of me, Haruka, gen, Bro, Anything, and one other player (Open spot! Whoever wants it just tell me your steam name and class!) will then be added to the overflow because of the rules. Now, what usually happens is one week a mission is done and then anyone other than us 6 can feel free to join in on the main group for the mission next week, but when Thursday comes then the people in the overflow can join. But since we're doing this mission 1 day apart, what happens is this: The group for Sunday is already open, so if you want to join in on Sunday just say so, but on Saturday, me and the other 5 people who did a mission on Friday can join.

Sorry if it's a bit confusing, it would make more sense if the missions were a week apart, but since I'm going to be busy on Friday the 26th things change around a little. If you're still confused just toss me a message and I'll try and explain it further. _spy_

So basically on the 19th we'll be doing an Intermediate/Advanced mission, then right after we're doing Desperation. Then on the 21st we'll be finishing up Deadbrain's Advanced Tour with CPU Slaughter, then move onto Cataclysm or Desperation, depending on if we beat Desperation on the 19th?

If I got all that right, then it's fine with me. And I should be good for Sunday.

This makes a lot more sense than what you were trying to describe :P I agree about the Milk's effectiveness, but a lot of the time, at least with me of course (maybe due to my hatred of the Milkman set, even though I have a five hundred kill Shortstop), I enjoy the extra speed and heavy hitting with the Crit a Cola. Of course, that could be easily counteracted due to the mini-crits I would take, gaining overheal from cash collection or not, but that's why it's a great Tank Busting weapon at least. Use the Milk for non Tank waves and... I just came up with a strategy for my Scout play.

Oh, and if you have an open overflow since you've got a free spot for Friday, throw me into it.

Alright, sorry for the delay folks, I've been busy all week and I think I even got a little sick from it. As a matter of fact it's just been a weird week overall, so let's hope that weirdness doesn't carry over into tonight's RETURN OF THE PRINCESSES *thunder and applause* _spy_

So here's what's happening tonight: we're going to start Oil Spill, the Intermediate Tour of Duty. This Tour of Duty will take us 5 1/2 weeks including this one to finish, so we should be done right before American Thanksgiving, where I understand some of you will be busy during the holiday. There are 6 missions in this Tour of Duty and this weekend we're going to do two of them and in the following weeks we're going to do one per week. This Tour of Duty is much easier than anything we've done before, but it has a few hard missions and waves thrown in so don't think it's going to be all pumpkins and rainbows Princesses!

Here's the order that we're going to do the missions in, keep n mind that because of the Thanksgiving Holiday our Grand Finale is going to be on Sunday, November 21st because I'm assuming most of the Americans in the Princesses (Myself included) are going to have other commitments that day. If you have any problems with this schedule please get in contact with me and I'll try and sort things out.

Tonight: Day of Wreckening (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Day_of_Wreckening_(mission))
Sunday, October 21st 2012: Quarry (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Quarry_(mission))
Friday, November 2nd: Cave In (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cave_In_(mission))
Friday, November 9th: Mean Machines (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mean_Machines_(mission))
Friday, November 16th: Doe's Doom (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Doe%27s_Doom_(mission))
Sunday, November 18th: Mann Hunt (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mann_Hunt_(mission))

Oil Spill is only Tour of Duty 1 1/2, because tonight, as Tour of Duty 2 we're also starting the advanced missions. These missions are notoriously difficult and will cause us to die many many times. There are only 3 missions in this Tour of Duty, but the length of time it will take to win this Tour of Duty ranges from 1 1/2 weeks to 5 or more weeks, because of how hard they are. As such, the below schedule is tailored to keep in mind if we've managed to defeat a mission or not. I've also worked in the maps from the intermediate Tour of Duty so we're doing the same maps as we're doing in Tour of Duty 1 1/2 as we're doing in Tour of Duty 2, just so we can adjust to the maps first.

Tonight: Desperation (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Desperation_(mission))
Sunday, October 21st 2012: Desperation (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Desperation_(mission)) or Cataclysm (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cataclysm_(mission))
Friday, November 2nd: Desperation (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Desperation_(mission)) or Cataclysm (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cataclysm_(mission))
Friday, November 9th: Mannslaughter (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mannslaughter_(mission)) or Cataclysm (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cataclysm_(mission))
Friday, November 16th: Desperation (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Desperation_(mission)) or Mannslaughter (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mannslaughter_(mission))
Sunday, November 18th: Mannslaughter (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Mannslaughter_(mission)) or Cataclysm (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Cataclysm_(mission))

Now, for what's happening tonight. We start early at 4PM EST for Day of Wreckening. I will organize the group, and I will bring tickets and squad surplus vouchers for this particular mission. I predict we won't have any major troubles with this mission and should be able to win fairly quickly. Once we're done with Day of Wreckening, we'll have a 15 minute break to stand up, stretch a little, maybe get a snack or use the toilet for a poo, do whatever but after that 15 minute break we will then start Desperation and we'll be attempting that for awhile. If we don't finish by 7PM EST, then we'll have a 30 minute dinner break to grab some grub and we'll back at 7:30PM EST. Honestly, I can keep playing all night but we'll probably stop around 11:00PM EST if this mission goes on for that long. I'll also be buying tickets for that mission.

Here's everyone that's coming tonight:

Friday, October 19th 2012 - Day of Wreckening & Desperation - 4PM EST
1. DwarfInASuit - Soldier/Demoman/Engineer/Medic
2. Haruka (TheRedSubstance) - Heavy
3. gendarmeofficer - Any class except Sniper
4. BroBuzz - Medic
5. AnythingButAwesome - Any class
6. Shadow_Aura_Knight - Scout/Engineer

3. Davybones

Now, since I'll be gone next week, Sunday will be the second day of our robot rampage. Sunday will be a bit of a longer day, because we'll probably be attempting 3 missions that day. First mission will be CPU Slaughter, to finish deadbrain's Tour of Duty. Second mission will be Quarry, the intermediate mission of Tour of Duty 1 1/2. The 3rd mission depends on how we did on Friday night; if we beat Desperation then we'll move on to Cataclysm. If we didn't beat Desperation then we'll try that one again. I'll be bringing tickets for all of these missions.

Important Announcement! I'll be gone on Saturday, so I've foolishly decided to open the gates and I'm now allowing anyone to join in on Sunday's Tour of Duty, even people in the overflow. Go wild.

Ha ha ha, the only reason you can say that is because you weren't with us the two weeks in a row that we failed. Especially the first of those two weeks, where we spent 3 hours on Mech Mutilation and then another 3 hours on Data Demolition. And don't even get me started on the second failed week. No seriously, don't get me started on that one because I was absent for that week.

We've managed to finish our first mission in Tour of Duty 1 1/2 fairly easily, only a single tank was getting in our way but we blasted it out of the air with no trouble at all. In Tour of Duty 2, we kinda died. A lot. So on Sunday we're going to be trying Desperation again! We'll probably die any times again! But here's who's coming to all 3 missions on Sunday:

Sunday, October 21st 2012 - CPU Slaughter, Quarry, & Desperation - 5PM EST

The sign-up sheet for November 2nd's missions, Cave-In and Desperation/Cataclysm, will go out next week so people will have time to check their schedules and figure out if they'll be busy or not during that weekend. Alright Daski, since you were unable to really play with us tonight because of technical issue, I wanna know. When would be a good time for you to play this week? I will do my best to make sure that you get a chance to really play with us at least once. Will you be able to play at any point this week before the Halloween fundraiser for Ana, or should we just hold off on getting together again until the 2nd? If the latter is the case, then I will gladly give up a spot on that date if it means you get to have some fun with the others.

DwarfInASuit
10-21-2012, 05:59 PM
Hell it was tough tonight. Daski couldn't come due to connection problems and couldn't even turn her head, so that was an issue. And after that we 5 manned deadbrains final mission in the Tour of Duty with a very tired Haruka. And I missed $14 again.

I'm so sorry for all the trouble tonight :( I honestly didn't expect to have half of these issues and I'm sorry I wasn't able to fix them. It was supposed to be a fairly easy get-together but it turned into chaos when we had to regroup over 5 times. I'll try to get these missions organized better so people have less problems in the future.

Now, since we just wrapped up deadbrains Tour of Duty and did nothing else, that means we still have Quarry and Desperation on the list. Since I'm going to be very busy next week, the only time I'll be available will be on next Monday and Wednesday from 6PM EST and on next Sunday, one week from now, at pretty much any time. During tonights mission we pretty much agreed to get together on Sunday, so here's the sign up for Sunday's mission:

Alrighty then, Tuesday it is. I've spoken to Projektrf who runs his own TF2 server and asked if he would mind opening it on Tuesday. He has agreed to do so, which means we won't have to worry about tickets or the crappy matchmaking of community MvM.

That's the good news. The bad news is that sadly, due to Darktoberfest I might not be able to join you guys. Now before anybody says "well we can always do it some other day when you will be available," please note that I have been with you guys since Dwarf first started getting everyone together, and so far, IIRC, I've only missed one week of playing with you guys. It really will not bother me at all whatsoever if I have to miss Tuesday's game. There will be other games that I'll be part of, and in the end, this is being done more so that Daski can finally have a chance to play a match with the Princesses without having the troubles she did tonight. Plus who knows? I may be able to make an appearance later on during the match.

Anyways, with all that being said, at the moment, the current planned starting time is around 7:00 PM EST. If you have any objections to that time, feel free to voice them and state what time would work better for you. Here's the sign-up list for Tuesday, October 23rd.

I'll be sure to update you all on once we get more information. But right now, we're continuing with the current plan of action. But be sure of one thing: Every update brings server crashes, so this Sunday's mission might become a little tougher because of it!

To be perfectly honest Dwarf, things did not go according to plan. There were a few no-shows and it was decided that instead of doing MvM, we just did normal TF2. And even that didn't work out so well because we kept getting placed into dead servers. So yeah, in the end, things didn't work out quite as well as hoped.

The newest Halloween Update brings us a new mission by the name of Wave 666; we still don't know what's in it, other than zombies. We know that zombies are in it. OVER 800 ZOMBIES. And it's a single wave of zombies.

Is anyone interested in potentially playing Wave 666 instead of Desperation on this Sunday? I'm down for it.

Oh really? I actually didn't know about this. Thanks for bringing it up!

So here was the original schedule for Sunday's mission:
Sunday, October 28th 2012 - Quarry, & Desperation - 6PM EST

5.

But seeing as there's going to be a charity stream during that time, some of us may be preoccupied. That means it's time for a rescheduling! But the big question is: What day would be best for you guys? I know that I'll be busy tonight (the 26th) and tomorrow (the 27th), so those days are off. Plus, I don't want to busy all of you with joining and getting together the day of the mission or the day before.

Here are the days I'm available next week: Monday/Wednesday at 7PM EST. Tuesday at 12AM EST until 5PM EST. Any time on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. It's important to note that next Friday (November 2nd), one week from now, has already scheduled a mission: Cave-In and one of the Expert Missions.

I can't exactly push the entire schedule back a week, because then we'll be playing MvM on American Thanksgiving. So we're going to need to find out when and where we'll be able to squeeze in Quarry and Wave 666 into the schedule. I dare ask, but does anyone want to do those two missions on Halloween, next Wednesday on the 31st? I'm completely available on that day, but it seems like other people might be busy. If not, then my next best time would be on next Monday. So, what days would be best for you guys to do Quarry and Wave 666?

I'm good with either Monday, around 7 EST, or Wednesday.

Heck, I wouldn't mind waiting to do Wave 666 until Wednesday since then we could have a whole day dedicated to doing all the Halloween update stuff.

Well folks, I just checked, and Wave 666 isn't a Mann Up mission, so we can still try it, but as a For-Fun Run! We can do it anytime you want guys.

Oh, and the wave? It's freaking massive.

So, instead of being a mission split up into several waves, it's just one big massive wave of evil re-animated meatbags?

You start the wave with $4000, and you start at Wave 666 which is absolutely massive. There are 9 tanks, several giant zombie/robots (Zombots?), even more smaller zombies, and yes, there are 800+ enemies in this wave. I'd assume it will be pretty mental.

I'm going to put together a For-Fun Run of Wave 666 tomorrow night if you guys are interested! It's not on Mann Up mode, it's only one wave, and it's the hardest mission in the game so far. I hope you're ready kids, just say if you're coming or not!

Personally, I consider 2 PM acceptable, so for the most compact reasons, I shall emphasize that right here. I necessarily have no intentions to proceed obliterating living dead for the rest of the day, or for more than a prolonged hour, if any attendants have priorities to comply with later. It'd rather be something to start with - there's plenty of time to continue doing the wave later.

That's true dead, there has been a good update to make matchmaking easier. I tried this morning and managed to get into a game within a few minutes and it didn't have any problems. Oh were you guys having a problem with the matchmaking? I heard they shut off the MvM servers for a little bit because they didn't want something screwing up with the update. Hey the update went off without a hitch though, it was amazing. I've never seen an update that doesn't screw everything up before, like make engineers sentries invisible in game modes that weren't even updated. The 666 wave thing is going to be a Mann Up mission I think. And if you guys were trying to play a mission that just came out on a community server with matchmaking, forget about it. Your best chance is to pester Projekt to turn on his server.

For a good four hours we railed and toiled and hailed all over Wave 666, but the farthest we could get was halfway through the wave. We actually got stuck on a single point in the wave multiple times; it's where 4 tanks are sent out, along with 96 Spies plus Spy support meaning we have to killed 4 tanks, one after the other, within a period of about 4 minutes, with 100+ spies backstabbing us. Yikes, that's scary. And painful _spy_

So here's the plan of action for this week: This Friday, November 2nd, we are going to continue with our intermediate Tour of Duty by doing not one, but two missions! Yes indeed folks, we'll be doing both Cave-In and Quarry on this day, due to the fact that we were unable to finish Cave-In on the 21st. After we finish both of these easy missions, we'll move on to another easy sounding mission, Cataclysm. It sounds easy, because Wave 666 is all but impossible! This is a do or die mission, so we might die on this one and be forced to give up. We'll be starting a bit earlier on Friday, right around 5PM EST.

On Sunday, November 4th, we'll be attempting Wave 666 again! Yes indeed, Halloween may have passed, but the carnage still goes on! Because this is a fun run, I'm not enforcing the Overflow rule, so whoever wants to show up, just say your name and I'll invite you! I'm also going to try and get a server of my own running for this, so we don't have to deal with the matchmaking. We'll start this around 4PM EST and it will go on until we're dead and bleeding!

Here's the sign up for this Friday's mission, just leave your name and class and we'll be ready to go! I'll see you all this Friday :D

Also, now that I think about it, next time we'll be running around and pitting each other in the 666, and face our wave of demise; the Spies with tanks, I realized that everyone should focus on destroying the tanks with the most you got, but how?

Ride on the tanks.

The spies can not jump or leap stab us. Our Pyro will be sending the Spies back to their graves, while everyone else stands on the tanks and obliterates them. Considering some of you are using explosive weaponry classes (you would be airblasted when firing directly below you, not sure about Demoman's grenades), those should focus their firepower on the tanks rolling behind, if possible. This is only theoretical tactic though, the main point here is that the Spies are not a threat when you're standing on a tank.

Well, the Soldiers/Demomen could jump onto a crate or a sign or something where they would be out of range. They could stand near the front and do damage to the tanks from the start up until where the path splits. Then, the non-explosive classes jump onto the tanks from that middle building and ride until that particular tank is dead. Pyro stays on the ground and goes spy-crazy. The only class not having a really good role at this point would be an engine, since the spies would be all over their buildings.

Granted, all of this would only be if we can get to that point again.

Heavy on tank, engie, soldier and demo waiting in the corner next to the little hut with a ammo crate, ready to destroy the tanks. This lures the spies in to two confined spots and makes it easier for the pyro to find them and burn them to death, while the others will be more free to focus on the tanks, perhaps?

Experiments are possible every time we manage to reach the wave. One can argue whether it would be more beneficial for all offensive classes to immediately start faring on the tanks as they spawn, and or, as Untux mentioned, position themselves on unreachable stations if you maintain explosive weaponry, instead of reducing the amount of Spies as a first action.

Personally, if we manage to get together for a realization of the tactic, I'd go with the immediate offense option here indeed, practically with all the non-explosive classes riding on tanks, as Soldiers and possibly Demomen try to station themselves into unreachable positions, going all crit hell on the nearest tank.

Still 2 open spots! Take em while they are hot!

Now for Haruka's strategy. I recently walked around the map to find some places where Spies won't be able to touch you, and you'll be able to unload everything you have on the tanks. Here are my findings: Riding the tank will mean that no Spy will touch you. Ever. As long as you're on that tanks back a Spy won't have a chance at getting you. This is a perfect strategy for all of the classes except for the Soldier and Demoman. The splash damage from those classes means they can potentially kill themselves or knock themselves off the tank. Not good.

I've found many places where these classes can potentially stand and not be in danger from Spies. Here are the first two:
[spoiler:ziwwffgh]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/939259113102138142/6597C5893028C2F40737A695F698F0CF1FD8EA73/

http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/939259113102137714/11D5C6B97CBE3ACEE3F016007732064B6A6140E2/

These are right next to the robot spawn. You need to jump on to that tiny ledge, but I'm 99% sure that the robot Spies won't follow you all the way up there. But since it can be reached by simple jumping, I'm not 100% sure.

Next is right on top of this box:
[spoiler:ziwwffgh]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/939259113102136454/C924F1FD7F5D96A886E37DB6763ED4724B576144/

You need to rocket jump on top of this box, meaning that the Spies cannot possibly get you right here. It gives you a clear view of the robot spawn, and a smaller view to the left.

Next is on top of these wood planks
[spoiler:ziwwffgh]http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/939259113102140523/E465EBFF1B28CF9CC77FE97A3D2B2F25CC16ED6B/

This is on top of the center building. Once again, you have to rocket jump up there, so Spies will not be able to reach you up here. I think this is one of the best spots to get away from the Spies.

Next is on top of this crate
[spoiler:ziwwffgh]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/939259113102140915/00F1BAA03A74ACB453BBC099FCD0F28DFA78B954/

Another rocket jump location, safe from spies, gives you a good look at the tank. I'd suggest this one too.

Next is on top of this fence
[spoiler:ziwwffgh]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/939259113102139190/6F4EEDDB0801CC7EA2201309625AF8B1CD2F59AC/

You only have to jump up here. It's safe, but once again I'm not sure if Spies can jump up there too, so watch your backs up here.

Finally, we have this other fence:
[spoiler:ziwwffgh]http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/939259113102136068/CF01681DB73504D60161177BDDE9E908C367CCA2/

Right next to spawn, you need to rocket jump up there. It gives a good view of the tanks path, but it isn't perfect because it's blocked by the fence. But if the tank is deploying the bomb, its probably the best spot.

That's all I've been able to find so far, if anyone else has any other options, feel free to say because that's the only way we'll be able to win this wave _spy_

The third picture with the box shows the corner I mentioned. It gives you a clear view of the tank for a good bit of its trip, brings the spies to one controls spot, and makes the pyros job of getting rid of the spies much easier. If everyone has crit canteens then the first tank or two shouldn't be a problem, and the spies are bound to die faster when heading to one specific spot.

plus: a wall for your backs. Pretty sure the box that I mentioned earlier, the spies can get to from above.

10-29-2012, 08:30 PM
Additionally, and Engineer should try to get to the areas you mentioned and build both a Sentry and Dispenser in a spot where he can easily remove Sappers. However, if this isn't possible, my only advice is to be careful and watch your health. If they're close enough, you might take Splash Damage anyways, plus they can still shoot you with their guns. While they can't one shot you, unless a Sentry is waiting to kill the ones that open fire and leave themselves undisguised, their numbers will most likely mean they can cause a fair bit of grief.

I recommend that the Soldier also use a Concheror to try and heal off any health the Spies take.

deadbrain
10-29-2012, 08:37 PM
But, if in that corner, the dispenser should suffice. plus with the buff banner being of great help, when krits are low, a few shots at spies will give the soldier enough for buff, and not to mention the pyro killing off the spies will give the dispenser enough time to keep everyone's health in check.

Looking at what we have to deal with after the Spy Tank wave, it really does look like the hardest part of the entire mission, at least in theory. After that wave, we'll be facing just the small robots and the occasional Sentry Buster. By the time we get there though, we should have the main weapons we'll be using upgraded to deal maximum damage, full resistances for the classes, and if we get lucky with money collecting, we might also have the Health on Kill bonuses for the weapons as well.

The big issue though, will be the fact that there will be Uber Medic-Heavy pairs to deal with, as well as a tank with 60,000 HP. However, since the tank doesn't appear until the end, dealing with it should not be too difficult. Other than that, the final stretch will see us facing the Huntsmen Snipers, the remaining Soldiers Demomen, Pyros, and Scouts. The Huntsmen can easily be dispatched by a combo of a Spy sapping them and backstabbing while a Sentry picks the majority of them off. As for the other classes? A Pyro with max damage output, max health on kill, good airblasting skills, and maybe an uber or two just in case could theoretically have a field day with them, again with everyone else helping them out.

Of course, it would probably be best for you guys to look at what's coming and make your own judgements regarding what strategies would be best. (http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Caliginous_Caper_(mission))

Remember that Spies, as well as other robots, can not jump. They can't reach any space that isn't accessible by walking, if that makes you feel safer about certain safe spots for the tankspy wave.

Personally speaking, I will practically have maximized damage output and resistances, movement speed, health regeneration and bullet penetration on my gun by the tankspy wave, so I theoretically wouldn't consider the small robots a major threat at all. Given that there'll be no tanks until the end, I could do my part on defensing the base from bomb carriers, in case any get through or there's no Pyro to airblast them. They should annihilated with ease.

An exception would be when the Heavy Medic pairs spawn; I'd position myself on top of the first roof at the robot spawning point, possibly corresponding with Gen's Medic sapping and Rambo crit helling most of them, or then plainly make the Medics trigger their Ubers right at the start. We will have the most power in our weapons by the moment they'll start appearing, so I do have a full confidence in us dispatching them before anything major.

You are a massive, massive, enormous butt of a man Bro.

I don't see any reason why you should be offended, that picture is about some other guy named "Drawf" after all.

Sorry folks, usually right now I'd say that I'd have the night off and I'd be able to get together a group for Wave 666, but I'm very busy tonight so I think that I'm going to pass on attempting to get a group together. But, that doesn't stop anyone else from attempting to organize a group! So if you want to try Wave 666, go ahead and just say so, I won't complain, but I also won't be able to join you.

If you're making a MvM Group tonight, good luck! If not, then we're full for this Friday's game:

By all means, I look forward to it.

And seriously, I've been mapping it out in my head for days now without thinking about it. I think I have all of the little game pieces sorted out, now I'm working on properties. I know the 2 utilites with be Red and Blu gravel powered stuff, and I'm having a little trouble with the railroads. Properties would be maps, with Boardwalk being 2fort. Chance spaces would be crates, Jail would be Spectator mode/AFK, and the Free Parking space would a MVM money pile......of $14.

Pieces:
Scout: headset, ball/bat.
Soldier: helmet, rocket launcher
Pyro: Mask, flamethrower
Demo: Sticky bomb, rum bottle
Heavy: Minigun, Sandvich
Engie: Dispenser, Sentry Turret, Teleporter.
Medic: Archimedes, Medigun/Bonesaw
Sniper: Rifle, Jarate
Spy: Cigarette, knife, revolver.

We start tonight! I will be out for an orthodontist appointment around 2PM EST though, so if I'm late blame my teeth. Other than that, things should go smoothly tonight. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the server for Wave 666 on Sunday, I'm thinking I'll just port forward it or try and find a server to use on Sunday. So if you want to join for Wave 666 just say so, no need to sign-up because it's just for-fun. Good luck tonight everyone _spy_

An update went out today, while it doesn't affect MvM it does mean that you might have problems playing if you don't update your game. So be sure to get the update and you'll be fine.

And that's fine Untux, I'm sure we can wait a little bit longer. But if it takes too long, say over 20 or 30 minutes, then we'll probably start pulling from the overflow. No hard feelings, but we can't wait around for an hour, some of us need sleep every once in awhile! _spy_

Whew, tough night tonight! We breezed through Quarry and Cave-In with relative ease, and then got further into Cataclysm than ever before, all the way to Wave 4! But we were stopped fairly late and had to give in to the Expert Difficulty, but we'll get it, one day or another! _spy_

With that being said, here's the plan for the week ahead: This Sunday is our next try at beating Wave 666. Unless I can get a server up, I'm going to have to see if gendarmeofficer can get Projekt's server for us, but I'll see what I can manage to do tomorrow. Wave 666 is for-fun so no rules, no need to sign up, just say if you want to join on Sunday! Then next Friday, the 9th of November, we'll continue Tour of Duty 1 1/2 and Tour of Duty 2 with Mean Machines as our Intermediate Mission, and Cataclysm/Desperation as our Advanced Mission. Starting a bit later because I'll be busy during the day, but I'll be free during the night, sorry if it's too much trouble. Everyone who played this week has been added to the overflow, and on Wednesday will be able to join the main group. Here's the sign up for next Friday:

Clearly we all need to bind a key to the dispenser voice command, then we need to go Scout and start screaming at the robots for dispensers.

And when that fails in a hilarious fashion, and only in a hilarious one, we should try splitting up into three Heavy-Medic pairs just to see how well that works out.

DwarfInASuit

Valiant effort put in by all of us last night, but we still couldn't get past the Spy/Tank Wave. I swear there must be some key strategy that we're all missing that's causing us to fail so horribly on that particular wave. We'll get there eventually! Maybe...

I'm not sure if Wave 666 is going away after November 9th, the last day of the Halloween Update before all the maps and events are rolled back, so that might very well be the last night we attempt it this year. Then again, I'm not sure if that means we're not able to start it up on our own servers and try again.

Speaking of which, me and gen have been working on getting the Princesses a MvM server to play on, so we don't have to deal with any of the horrible matchmaking (Although we were very lucky getting a Valve server last night instead of some strange anon server). But I think we're both stuck at one point: We're able to create and run a server, but we're unable to put it online for others to join. I've been talking with a good friend of mine who's been saying that we need to open our ports and allow firewall access and stuff like that, so potentially we may be getting somewhere, but other than that we're pretty much stuck. I'll continue working on it, and I'm sure gendarme will continue working at it as well, so we may have a server to play around on soon enough!

Having maintained servers before with the valid resources and programs, I do have some keepsake on the subject. So in the case that neither of you haven't taken a mediocre investigation on port forwarding and the problem solutions, I could refer you this particular one I happened to find with a hasty search.

http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/yc ... r_you_and/ (http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/yc6uf/how_to_create_your_own_mvm_server_for_you_and/)

The progress on that guide (particularly port forwarding, which is most likely needed here, along with sv_lan 0 command) seems viable and certainly test worthy. You also could google for more guidelines for confirmation on the functionality of that designated guide I put up there.

Anywho, let's put all this madness and badness behind all of us and move on to greater things! Greater things like...next weeks mission!

We have a very very busy week next week because it's the before our Grand Finale! That means I'm going to need a lot from you guys, and I'll explain all in this post. Next week's mission will be Doe's Doom, which you can sign up for on the sheet below. We'll also be trying our Expert Mission again next week, but chances are we probably won't be able to finish our Expert Tour of Duty the same day as our Intermediate Tour of Duty. I'll probably explain what we're doing with our Expert Tour of Duty later, but we will attempt to finish it before the new year!

Now, since we're getting close to the Grand Finale, we're going to have Catch-Up week soon. So I'm going to need to know what missions you guys are missing in Tour of Duty 1 1/2. Here's what I'm missing:

Doe's Doom
Mann Hunt

If you're missing anything else then please let me know so I can begin organizing the schedule we'll have for catch-up week.

After we finish Doe's Doom next week, we'll have a week off because of American Thanksgiving. I'm not going to place another mission on Sunday because the last time we did that it conflicted with a lot of schedules so I'm giving you the week of Thanksgiving off. Go have fun with your families :D Our Grand Finale will be on the last day of November, the 30th.

Here's the sign up sheet for next week's mission. On Wednesday anyone in the overflow can join the main group. I'll see you all next week!

I don't really have any other announcements, just a reminder that we're NOT going to meet next week, and the week afterwards will be our Grand Finale for Tour of Duty 1 1/2. I'm trying to figure out what we're going to do for the rest of the year, since we won't have enough weeks to finish another Tour of Duty unless it's an expert Tour of Duty. So we might try and do that in the weeks before Christmas/New Years, but we'll see how well we do on the expert missions before then.

Other than that, I predict that TF2's Christmas Update will hit around the second to third week of December, so I'll keep an eye on that to see if they add any special missions like they did with Halloween.

So go ahead and sign up if you're in the Overflow, and I'll see you all on Friday _spy_

So according to this (http://www.mail-archive.com/hlds@list.valvesoftware.com/msg50763.html), we should be getting an update on the day we're gathering together. Hopefully, the update can be done before we start playing, however, we should probably figure out a backup date to do this in case things don't go as planned.

DwarfInASuit
11-16-2012, 08:10 AM
Thanks for pointing that out gen,

It looks like a minor update, so it probably means bug fixes and at most Crate #50, so I'm not expecting anything more than that. But who knows, Valve has surprised me many times before _spy_

The update should be going out in the next few hours or so, and since we don't start until 6PM EST then we should be fine unless something delays the update or the update breaks everything. While I'm expecting things to go fine, I will form a backup date in case this update goes awry.

Since I'll be busy running errands tomorrow, I say we do it on Sunday at 4PM EST. How does that time sound to everyone? Keep in mind I'm not actually rescheduling the mission, we'll still be doing Doe's Doom with the preformed group tonight but if there are problems with the update, this is the next time we'll meet with the same group to do Doe's Doom.

If things go accordingly, I'll see you all tonight though!

Don't sweat it Daski, everyone makes mistakes every now and again _spy_

Okay, announcement time: Good job with Doe's Doom last night, I'm sorry there was some hassle organizing everyone, I understand Gold had some problems and hope he got them fixed, other than that thanks for coming! I'm sorry if you're disappointed that we didn't do the expert mission afterwards, but that will be explained later in this post.

Next week we have off due to Thanksgiving in America. I've said this multiple times, no more announcements coming out of here.

The week afterwards will be our Catch-Up Week and November 30th will be our Grand Finale with Mann Hunt! As with every Grand Finale, I'll be supplying Squad Surplus tickets to make sure everyone gets a piece of the pie and we all leave richer than when we entered (The exception being me who spends too much money on these things _spy_ ).

Catch-Up Week will probably be the most important thing here. I know for a fact that the only people missing Mann Hunt are: Me, gendarmeofficer, and Haruka (TheRedSubstance). The only person missing 1 mission along with Mann Hunt is: deadbrain (Doe's Doom). And the people missing 2 missions along with Mann Hunt are: Shadow_Aura_Knight (Quarry & Cave-In), GoldGameMaster (Day of Wreckening, Doe's Doom), and Untuxable (Day of Wrecking, Mean Machines). Everyone else is missing more than 3 missions along with Mann Hunt. So first we shall see who's attending the Grand Finale, and then I'll organize Catch-Up Week from there.

Now for the expert missions. Originally we were going to do them alongside the Intermediate Missions, leaving the Intermediate Missions as Tour of Duty 1 1/2 and the Expert Missions as Tour of Duty 2. This is still true, meaning that we are about to finish Tour of Duty 1 1/2 and we're still going to do Tour of Duty 2. But it's changing. Since as a group we've been mostly unable to finish the Expert Missions, we cannot organize in such a way that we finish the expert mission ToD on the same day as the intermediate ToD, so here's the new plan:

Rush to the End of the World. Usually I put some break time in between our Tour of Duty's, but this time I'm throwing that right out the window and saying "GO FOR IT!" The week right after we finish Tour of Duty 1 1/2, we'll immediately start Tour of Duty 2 with this schedule:

December 7th, 2012: Cataclysm
December 14th, 2012: Desperation
December 21st, 2012: Mannslaughter

That's right, we're finishing on the end of the world. _awesome_ Now there is something different about this schedule, and that is that usually after a mission, everyone who attended was put into the overflow. Not this time. Since we're rushing, that rule is also being thrown out the window and instead it will be a first-come, first-serve. It's a lot to swallow but it will make more sense in the weeks to come!

Finally, thanks for sticking around everyone, it's been a hectic couple of weeks trying to get all our ducks in a row but I think we'll be fine for the rest of the year. The sign-up for Mann Hunt will go out sometime next week before Thanksgiving, so I'll see you all around!

Some more news about our End of the World Tour. One of the dates I've scheduled is on December 14th. As most of us should know, that's when the Mario Marathon starts. So I've been thinking a bit about how we could remedy this. The first thing would be to try and change the date, but since the marathon goes through the weekend I can't place it on Saturday or Sunday. And I can't push the entire Tour back a week, because then we'd end up doing a mission on the 28th, which is still deep in the holiday season meaning that I'll be busy, and I bet some of us will also be busy then. So if I were to try and schedule the December 14th mission on another date, I'd probably need to know when those of us who are in school start their Winter Break, and those of us who are working get the time off.

My next option would be to try and schedule that mission very very early in the day, probably around 3PM EST or 4PM EST. I'm not sure how well that fits with our schedules, I can safely say that mine won't be effected by such a change but I need to know from the rest of you guys. What would be the earliest time you'll be available on December 14th?

Other than that specific date, we should be fine for the December 7th mission, and the December 21st mission, that is, if the world doesn't end _spy_ .

One last thing is the sign-up for our Grande Finale. Here is sign-up sheet, People who are in the overflow, you'll be able to join the main group on this Saturday, the 24th of November. Keep that in mind.

I should be good for the 30th, so count me in. As for the end of the world tour, I should be good around that time. All I will have left, school wise, will be my exams and it shouldn't get in the way as far as the "time of day" goes.

Also a bit of unfortunate news, I'm too busy this week to try and organize Catch-Up Week. I'm sorry everyone who will be missing missions during our Grand Finale, but I can't organize anything at the moment. Unless someone else wants to step up to the plate and get something together, I'm all out of luck. I'm so sorry once again, but I hope we all have a good time on Friday as always!

I'll be there for the 30th. Like always, I will notify you if my schedule changes.

Also, while I'm here, a thought: the Community Stream Month is rapidly approaching, and I've noticed that there haven't been many people signing up. Would you guys be interested in streaming one of these MvM get-togethers for it?

There are plenty of days open, so finding a date that works for everyone shouldn't be a problem. We'd have to figure out who would actually stream it though. I might be able to, but I've never done it before, so I wouldn't know.

gendarmeofficer
11-25-2012, 12:54 AM
I could be the one to stream it if nobody else minds being watched. Heck, I could probably stream our matches even outside of CSM if you guys are interested. It would be on my channel though, not the actual TSG site, just to be clear.

DwarfInASuit
11-25-2012, 09:27 AM
That's a good idea Untux/gen. Mostly I was chocking up the lack of new players due to the holiday season fast approaching so people will be busy with their families, people in school or University have finals coming up (Mine are in two weeks :omg: ) and etc. But you do raise a very good point and a good idea.

[strike:1betskt0]We'd have to find a good date to possibly stream first of all, and I'm not sure if we sign up for them or if there's a schedule anywhere, so anyone with more experience could handle that. Here's what I can tell you about the date and time: we'd probably stream on a Friday during one of our missions. The best options right now will probably be the 7th and the 21st around 5PM EST. If need be I can possibly try something on a Sunday, maybe the 9th or the 23rd.[/strike:1betskt0]
Edit:Just checked, it's in January. We can probably do it on either the 11th, or the 18th of January around 5PM EST if anyone wants to.

If anyone has more experience let me know so we can work something out and figure out how to get everyone together on a specific date! :D

gen, you seem to have the most experience streaming content and I'd be 100% fine with you handling the stream. Feel free to do it anytime we're all together, no need for any permission _spy_

gendarmeofficer

If I do stream the matches, it's kinda important that everyone who is participating that night be alright with it. I'd really rather not cause problems with you guys by streaming when one of you says you'd rather not be seen.

As for CSM though, whenever we do it, if we do end up doing it, what is it that we should do? Just go for a complete ToD on say, Intermediate? We can easily clear through all those missions within the time frame, I think. Or would we rather try to set things up so that we finish off the advanced tour we began just before they introduced the new tours? Or maybe we could try Wave 666, if we can find a server that can do it. Or if we can get enough people for it, just do a game or two in normal mode.

1.They are making new tours, if I am reading this right? and in January?
2.I'm fine with being streamed. Twill just be my pyro and obnoxious typing/voice.
3.So we are finishing the intermediate tour this friday, and then be doing expert, when?

gendarmeofficer
11-25-2012, 02:11 PM
No, I was referring to the fact that we had begun a new ToD on Advanced the week before Valve released the Intermediate and Expert campaigns. What's starting in January is the CSM, and Dwarf got confused and thought it was next month. As for when we'll be doing the Expert missions, I believe that we'll be doing those in December.

dead: We're wrapping up the Intermediate Tour of Duty this Friday, the 30th. Next week starting on the 7th we'll start an Expert Tour of Duty which will last 3 weeks. Then we'll take a 2+ week break during the Holiday's and New Years. I thought that Community Stream Month was happening during December when in fact it's happening in January, as gen explained. I don't know if we're getting any new missions or Tour of Duty's.

We're still deciding what to do during CSM, but once there's news of it, I'll let you all know _spy_

I'm fine with being present whilst gen streams, and for CSM I'll make an effort to find my mic. I know it's here somewhere.....

Gen mentioned trying wave 666 if/when we stream, so I'm assuming Vavle left it up?

gendarmeofficer
11-25-2012, 11:04 PM
I think you need a server set up specifically for it if you want to do Wave 666. Meaning that if we do wave 666 we'll probably need to figure out how to set up our own MvM server just so we can be sure to have one ready to go in case we can't get Projekt's server for whatever reason.

DwarfInASuit
11-26-2012, 11:06 AM
If we end up doing Wave 666, it would be best to try and talk with Projekt beforehand because I'm still encountering troubles trying to get mine set up. I can join the server, it's just that no one else can. So that's the biggest problem right now. But we'll see what we end up doing if we stream for CSM. _spy_

A small warning folks, my computer has been crashing recently, but I think I've isolated the problem. Still, it's been behaving weirdly, so worst case I won't make it to the Grand Finale on Friday. I'm attempting to have it fixed right now, and I'll update you on the process. Right now I'm still planning on being there on Friday, the schedule has not changed, and the mission has not been canceled.

And so we claim victory once again. Nothing can stand in the Princess' path.

Very excellent job done tonight ladies and gentlemen! Very excellent indeed, that sends Tour of Duty #1 1/1 swirling down the drain as we move on to bigger and deadlier things. I'm of course talking about the fabled Tour of Duty #2 done in Expert Mode. That is what we're planning to beat in the next 3 weeks. We start next week on December 7th, starting off with Desperation. Finally we're taking part in Community Streaming Month! The date, time, and what we're doing hasn't been settled yet, but we'll be working on it. We'll be working together to try and settle on what we're doing and the dates, but after that he's the one who's going to get everyone organized. Direct all your questions about CSM towards him, and there will be info out on that before the New Year.

Put me down as whatever. I'll probably be going Pyro for the most part, though I will switch if we end up needing to do so though.

Also guys, in regards to CSM, I'll be posting a sign-up sheet for it sometime after Christmas. For now, assume that the date we'll be doing this on will be the 25th. As for what it is we shall be doing, I shall figure out what can be done. I am not going to say one way or the other what we shall be doing for CSM, as it could be anything. Most likely what will happen is we will be going into MvM and doing a round or two of that, depending on how long we'll be streaming for. However, depending on what happens between now and then, I may do something else. I won't say what that would be for now, instead it shall wait until the day of the sign-ups.

To donate sweat and blood on Desperation? Alright then.

gendarmeofficer
12-04-2012, 06:25 PM
Alright, so I asked Daski about it earlier, and since any changes I need to make to the schedule will need to be brought up a week before January, I'm going to go ahead and make a sign-up sheet now for the CSM event. Please note that as of now, the plan is to play on the 25th of January starting at 4:00 PM EST/5:00 CST and keep going until we either win, or until 2:00 AM EST/1:00 AM CST, or until we just flat out give up.

Now then, at present, what mission we will do has yet to be decided. While I do want to do Wave 666, considering the lack of rewards, as well as the fact that we would need to find a special server dedicated to it and hope that it doesn't crash/replace one of us should we have to leave/get kicked/crash, I may instead save up any money I get from Christmas to buy tickets and possibly vouchers so that we can do another tour. Said tour would most likely be Operation Oil Spill, since it's nothing too difficult, and I am fully confident we can complete a full tour within the time limit, whereas I am not completely confident regarding the other missions. However, if you guys are willing to do one of the other tours that day, then we can certainly try.

Now then, a few things I'd like to note before I post the sign-up.
First, please make sure you will be available to play. While I understand that sometimes real life can get in the way, please try to avoid making other plans that might require you to leave early or be late. Please be ready to go at the scheduled time. Remember, this isn't just a casual game between friends, it's also going to be entertainment for a lot of people, which means we cannot wait around for 15 minutes in the lobby for one person. If you do not show up in the lobby on time, we will start bringing in people from the overflow to fill your spot. At most you will be given 3 minutes to show up.

Please try to get a microphone if you can. if you simply cannot afford one between now and the 25th of January, that's fine, but if you get the chance to get one, please do. Part of the fun will be in the snarky comments and joke insults we throw at each other. And for the people watching the stream, it's easier to just listen to us than to constantly have to look at the chat area of the game to see when one of us talks, especially if they have to watch the stream in low quality.

Because this is going to done on the live page, please go ahead and try to get into the habit of not swearing. Granted, I don't know if there is an actual rule against swearing, but I am going to assume that language should be kept G rated unless I am told otherwise.

Finally, I'd like to ask that if anyone else is capable of streaming and knows how to do so, that they let me know. Again, real life can be unpredictable, and if something happens to keep me from streaming, I would like to at least know that someone will be available to at least ensure that the Princesses' show goes on as scheduled. Hopefully it won't come to that, but if it does, well then at least I'll be prepared.

And with that said, if you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you would like to suggest a different date, please say so before the 22nd of December. And now, here's the sign-up sheet.

Since it's on a Friday, I'll be able to be there for the entire duration. I still haven't found my microphone yet, but even if I don't my laptop has a decent quality built in one, so either way I'm good to talk.

Also, I'm thinking that we might want to have atleast one person keeping an eye on the stream chat. I could probably do it by having another computer up on the stream page. Hopefully that won't put too much strain on my connection.

gendarmeofficer
12-04-2012, 11:22 PM
Keeping an eye on the stream chat isn't that big of a deal tbh, we can probably provide sufficient entertainment without talking to them. But if we really want to talk to the chat, we can probably do a Skype call with the people who will be playing and get a seventh person who won't be playing to keep their eye on the chat and to let us know what insults they're throwing at us.

Haruka
12-05-2012, 05:05 AM
Why, I will be there as well, respectively. I do agree with a seventh person interested to direct the chat to us, seems comfortable to possibly have a load of people booing us out.

I'm starting my second semester of college on the week of the 25th, but I do get the 25th off so I'm 99% sure I'll be able to attend on that specific day. I'll be sure to keep my schedule in mind, and if anything comes up I'll be sure to let you know gen. If you need any help with getting tickets and vouchers for everybody then let me know, I'll be glad to help you out.

I can also try and learn how to stream over winter break if need be. A friend of mine has done it before so I'll be sure to ask him if I ever get the chance. In the case of a 7th member, I agree it would be useful to have someone, we'd just need someone to agree to sign up, but would be fine not attending the mission.

@Everyone Else: It might be a late night on Friday, but I hope we'll be able to finish Desperation at least. If not, then we'll go on with the regular schedule and get practice for every Expert mission and we'll probably start again either in January or February.

Also, starting today, tomorrow, and next Tuesday I have finals, so I'll mostly be away from my computer on those days. I'll be sure to check every night before I fall asleep/pass out if anyone signs up or has any questions about the End of the World Tour. I'll see you all on Friday _spy_

Thanks for the offer to help Dwarf. Chances are I'll be needing it. Unless we do an Expert tour, or unless my maths are wrong, I'm going to be spending $36 just to buy the tickets for the entire thing, assuming nobody provides their own tickets or already had a few missions in said tour cleared. And somehow, I doubt I'll be getting the money to pay for all the tickets as well as vouchers for the final round.

I'll see about getting my own tickets for that day. Although, if we end up doing Operation Oil Spill, I have like 4 or 5 of the missions done, so I'll only need like 2 tickets.

Also, stick me in the overflow for Friday. I've got a piece in an art show associated with my school that night from 6-8, so unless you guys don't get past the first wave in 2 hours (I have a feeling I just jinxed everybody) I probably won't be able to join.

DwarfInASuit
12-07-2012, 09:23 PM
It was a fun try tonight, but overall it completed failed. Meaning that we're going to need to step up our game. Hard. That's why I'm announcing a few things that are going on with the Princesses.

#1: All schedule missions for the rest of the year are canceled.
It's clear after tonight that the end of the year isn't going to be easy. Almost all of us playing tonight were distracted at one point or another, and it's not going to get better towards the end of the year. Next week will be the start of the Mario Marathon, and two weeks from now it will be 4 days until Christmas, meaning most of us are going to be super pre-occupied for the future. So that means that the End of the World Tour is canceled until further notice, and there won't be any other missions until after New Years.

#2: Changes to how we handle missions, signing up, and encouraging people to join
During the last couple of missions, we've been having some major problems getting new players to join the Princesses, and problems getting other people to sign-up and show-up. So that means that we're going to change a lot of things. Now, before I go into detail, None of these are going to take effect until we're finished with CSM. gendarmeofficer's doing a great job organizing CSM, so I don't want to throw a wrench into the works by changing the rules before we start streaming for CSM.

First and foremost, we're going to change some aspects of the Sign-Up Sheet. Right now, we're unable to fill out an entire list, and I blame that on many reasons, but in the future, we're going to potentially change the way people sign-up in order to encourage more activity on the forums. Once again, none of these are final, I'll have more information on the changes I'm making after New Years. But just know, that we're going to be more stringent on getting people to sign-up. People have lives, and people get bored and tired of doing the same thing every week, I understand that. The changes we make aren't going to penalize people for having personal lives. We just want to get more people involved with the Princesses.

Secondly, the way that we handle missions is going to be slightly different. We're going to be including some more incentives to get people to sign-up for missions. This includes things like contests, giveaways, and other stuff in order to get people signing up. So expect some of those in the future.

#3: Advertising Ourselves
We're going to be working on getting the Princesses out there. That includes a few things that we'll be doing in order to get more people interested in not just the Princesses, but in TSG as a whole.

First off we're thinking about launching a Youtube channel that will have highlights from the missions we do. This will most likely not start until sometime in 2013 until we can figure out how to correctly record and edit videos. But we're doing it to get our name out there and get people interested in the activities that happen on TSG.

Next, we're going to have a Steam Group. This will be a place where I can announce and start missions and let everyone know when a sign-up goes out or whatever. I'll probably start it up sometime before New Years, so expect a lot of announcements from there.

Finally, we're going to try and get the Princesses verified as an official group with TSG. This means we'll probably be doing some more events (One of which I'll explain a little bit later) IF we get verified as an official group. I'll probably be trying to do this sometime next week.

Now events. We're known for doing MvM Missions, and that's practically what we're going to be doing in the future. But we're probably going to be doing some promotion events. Sometime in either January or February we're going to open a server and do all sorts of wacky stuff on it. I'll be working on getting a working server with tons of plug ins to have all sorts of fun.

That's really all the announcements I can make. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! If you have any comments or suggestions, feel free to do the same.

Thanks for riding along gentlemen, we still have a lot more fun to have. _spy_
