well since there aren't any topics in the section, i'll start us off :)

story: this game has a wonderful storyline. you switch between characters during the gameplay from a young boy and his brother, to a caring father and dog, to a theif, anf finally to a monkey (thats really all as far as i am). This game always has you occupied and the storyline reels you in.... 10/10

music: this game has a TON of songs in this game. almost every enemy has their own song not to mention the town and cave songs. The music captivates you and can also help you in battle. 10/10

controls: this game has pretty well designed controls. I had some trouble in the begining, but i work out everything. If you time the controls to the music you do extra damage, very clever. But when you are about to battle, other enemies can run up and join, i found that annoying. Also if you accidentally turn around before a battle it'll count as them sneaking up on you. 8/10

gameplay: the game runs very smoothly. There are just minors lag spots in the game. 9/10

overall this game is amazing. I have never seen anything with this kind of battle style and gameplay. The story is amazing and the music is awesome. I highly reccomend this to anyone thinking about getting this game. overall i rate this game 9/10!

I beat it just recently. It was a great game, but I still like Mother 2 better. Just my opinion though.

I also have recently beaten it, but I think this just edges out Mother 2. They are still both really awesome games. :D

I know that it has an english patch, but I tought that it only was released in Japan. Is the English patch made by the makers of the game, or just some fan who translated it themself?

SuperPaperNess

It's not an official translation, it was just made by a group of dedicated Mother fans who wanted us to enjoy Mother 3 as much as the people in Japan have. :D

Now if only Nintendo would learn from it's fans!

Back in AZ, my friends and I always called Mr. Saturn "Mr. PwaPwah" Everytime one landed in brawl, we would do a high pitched PwahPwah! We loved the little guy.

I'm waiting for the moment where I can just own someone with a Mr. Saturn in Brawl. That would be awesome. :D

I recently started replaying the series to get ready for the marathon as well. So far I've beat Mother 1 and got about halfway through Earthbound. (in Fourside, got 3 "Your Sanctuary" area's done.)

I, honestly, never actually played this game yet. But I am curious about this Porky character, and what's up with him and Ness/Lucas. After seeing them in Brawl's Subspace Emissary.

After just one time of playing it, it's now my second favorite game behind Earthbound. It's the only game that has made me cry real tears. And I will probably cry again when I get to specific parts. Just finished chapter 2 today. I came to a sad part on this playthrough and had to save and do that part alone in my room before doing it because I didn't want to cry in public.

Well Ness is the main character in EarthBound, and Lucas is the main character in Mother 3. Porky is the villain in Mother 3.
Anyone need to correct me? Anything I missed? Tried to come up with as short an answer as possible

Yeah, I had a hunch Porky is a villain of some sort. But I'd like to know why he is like that. Is he rich or something? Or did Lucas do something to make him evil?

Porky (Pokey) is also a main villian in Mother 2 (EB) :P
Now going to sleep, you guys keep me awake too late.

He's just a spoiled, evil kid who wants to take over the world. :P

^Alright, that was all I was asking. Thank you. :) I cant wait to see TSG play mother 3. I guess it will be English Patch as well?

Well I hope so, everything will go a lot a lot smoother if they do. :P Aren't they gonna play it on a DS?

I beat this game within the week the English patch for it was out. And I'm not even remotely ashamed to admit that the ending made me cry so much I had to stop playing for about 5 minutes then come back. This is probably among the best games for the GBA, it's a shame NOA hates the Mother series.

Britt was on cam at the Christmas blowout I think, and he was playing the fan translation on his DS from a flash cart or something. I'm not sure if that's what they're using for the marathon, though.

Man, I HAVE to get a faster internet service so I can play Mother 3 before the marathon (dial up = fail  ). It will be hard for me to watch them play it before I get to experience it for myself. I usually stay away from all Mother 3 topics so no one "accidentally" spoils the game for me.

Very good idea. Before I played it, I stayed away from all spoiler topics, and it was completely worth it. I had the perfect emotions at every step of the way and I hope you can too :).

I cried too, numerous times. I'm on my second playthrough and during a sad scene early on (you know what I'm talking about I'm sure, just don't wish to spoil it), I had to leave the room and complete the part in the privacy of my room.

Me too. I didn't think I would, either. It's just so awesomely sad and sadly awesome. _awesome_
