Games Worth Playing If You Haven't Before
(Or Again If You Have)
Episode 37: Luigi's Mansion (GCN)
Ever since I first played Super Mario Bros. as a child I've always had a preference towards the younger and greener of the plumber twins, so when I learned that he was finally getting a solo title as a launch game on the Gamecube I was very excited. A little of it was lost when I learned that it wouldn't be a platformer but in the end the resulting survival horror, or rather survival comedy, was plenty satisfying.
When Mario mysteriously disappears while investigation a mansion Luigi supposedly won in a lottery, Luigi sets out to find him only to realize that the place is filled to the brim with ghosts. Armed with a modified vacuum cleaner Luigi goes on to do his best ghostbuster impression, while also sucking up as much money as he can find.
The music of the game is really catchy and as if to prove the point it won't only be you who's humming along to the theme, the green-clad scaredy-cat himself will join in. Even though it might be a small detail it still tends to put a smile on a lot of peoples' faces.
Happy ghost hunting, see you next time!
